Robert Souza is a retired L.A.P.D. detective with over two decades of experience in the Robbery Homicide division, having served the department from 1966 to 1988. With 17 years of experience in homicide, he has investigated some of the city's most chilling murder cases, including the Wonderland Murders,The Westside Rapist, The Freeway Killer, Hollywood Leather Jacket Murder and The Pen Pal Murders. Robert’s career also saw him chasing down numerous leads in one of Los Angeles' most notorious unsolved cases—the Black Dahlia murder.


Recently, he has served as consulting producer on several true crime series, including Hulu's City of Angels, City of Death and The Wonderland Murders: The Secret History of Hollywood with Michael Connelly. His television credits include serving as a technical advisor for Cold Case. He also co-wrote Hollywood Homicide, starring Harrison Ford, and served as a technical consultant on Dark Blue, starring Kurt Russell. Robert has authored books including "Malice in Wonderland" and "The Dirty Business of Homicide," drawing from his extensive experience investigating homicides when Los Angeles was known as the "Murder Capital of the World."
